What Does the Bible Say About God’s Forgiveness toward Humanity

God’s Forgiveness toward Humanity:

God loved us so much that, He himself, came to earth to pay the penalty for our sin so that we could be forgiven and brought back into eternal relationship with our Father, Saviour and Lord.

Romans 6:23 says ‘For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God’s desire to forgive humanity is continually shown throughout the Bible.

Psalm 86:5 “For you Lord are good and ready to forgive and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon you.”

Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light , we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.”

1 John 1:8-9 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Even while Jesus was on the cross, He prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). Despite experiencing unimaginable suffering, Jesus chose to extend forgiveness to his executioners, demonstrating  incredible love and the power of forgiveness.

Conclusion:

How wonderful and incredible to know the forgiveness of our Father, Almighty God and Saviour. There is no greater comfort than to know that we are accepted by Him and that He loves us.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

As a result of Jesus' sacrifice and His blood willingly shed for each one of us, we are forgiven of our sin. We need to believe and accept this personally for ourselves to gain this everlasting life. This forgiveness is available for all people, but we need to personally make the choice to accept the gift of forgiveness.
